How do Morilee dresses run in size?

Marisa, on July 4, 2018 at 10:42 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 9

I'm thinking of buying a Morilee dress online since I have not been able to find it in stores. Do you all know how their dresses run? It's a size 10. I'm a street size 6. I have tried on wedding dresses where the 8 fit me. I'm wondering if I could get away with the 10 with alternations.

Honestly, i'd be very hesitant to by a gown without trying it on. Have you tried on similar styles to it? There were several I found online that I adored, and when I finally found to try on, they didn't compliment me at all.

Have you gone to a bridal salon to be measured? I personally wouldn't take a gamble and ordering whatever size I think I am. Most situations you can't return or exchange the gown. I'd go to a bridal salon, look around, be measured and if you still want that one, order per your measurements. Most bridal salons are able to order the gown for you, and in the proper size. I also wouldn't want to bank on it fitting me only through alterations.

I ordered a size 18, unfortunately had some health issues since January, and now my gown needs to be taken in quite a bit, which is costing nearly $500.

My dress is a Morilee! I think I’m a little odd though.....I’m a street size 10 and we ordered a 10, and it’s almost perfect on me. The top needs to be let out just a little bit.

We had considered ordering a size up, but the alterations would have been more difficult for them (altering the cups and stuff)

I have a mori lee dress I generally where a 14 and that’s what I had git and fit me like a glove. But I lost some weight and had to get it taken a dress size. So yeah mori lee dresses to me seem to size about what you would wear in street clothing.

I have a morilee too! Iam the same as Shai, I'm a 14 and got a 14. I was a little surprised bc other brands can have crazy sizing but morilee seems to be accurate. Now if you got the 10 you will be able to fit in to it but it will be a lot of alterations so may not be worth it, especially depending on how much detail is on it.

I ordered a mori lee as well. I am a street size 6 and also ordered a 6. It fits me perfectly, just had to be hemmed. My dress is a ball gown so I didn't really have to worry about the hip area. If it was more Form fitting I think I would be a little hesitant about not trying it on first.

Mine was a Morilee, I usually wear a size 6 but my dress was an 8. But I would also highly recommend going to a salon to be measured.

I guess its just me then. I picked Mori Lee #2806, I am normally a size 8 or 10 but we had to order a 12 in order for the hips to fit. I am very small on the top (can hardly fill an A cup) so there will defiantly have to be a ton of alterations done. Fingers crossed. Anyone else going through with dramatic alterations of size??

The bridal salon ordered my daughter a size 8 based on her measurements 34-27-38 and the Mori Lee size chart. Style 2033. The dress came in and is at least 1-2 sizes too big. Smiley sad She normally wears a size 2-4. We are thinking the size 4 or 6 would’ve fit her much better. The style is low back with lace and sheer sides. Now to have it altered to fit, she will lose half of the detailing on the sides/back. It’s been an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. Based on our experience I would order a size down from the size chart.
