How do i go about getting a floral quote?

CruzWin, on February 6, 2019 at 4:12 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9
Such a newbie, I'm not sure what to ask or say. Do i just call florists and ask for quotes? Send pics? Do i go to the actual florist? Where to start? I have no clue.

You can start by sending an email or calling and just telling them your wedding date and ask for pricing with a general idea of what you’re looking for (flowers for wedding party, ceremony, reception, centerpieces?). They will ask you follow up questions to give you a quote. If you send an email attaching inspo pics would help too.

We found ours by using the vendor tools on here. Browsed around, checked out reviews, photos, etc. Some of them even had pricing on their pages here, which was helpful. But basically, find florists who do work you like, and just reach out by email. "Hi, my name is ____, I found you on ______ and I really enjoyed seeing your work. We are getting married on ____ and would love to hear more about your services. Can we set up a call/consultation/meeting/whatever to talk about that?" Once you get the ball rolling, they will generally ask you for any info they would need. Some will ask for your budget. Some have a "minimum spend," so they will tell you that. Some will ask for pictures, etc. And some won't ask anything at all. Just reach out to who you like and follow their lead Smiley smile

It helps to have a good idea of what you want. Pinterest can help with this. Save pins from Pinterest of your inspiration and create a vision board for your florist to see. My wedding planner actually put together a powerpoint presentation discussing every aspect of the wedding and my overall vision and we sent this out to several (over 10) florists to get quotes. This helped a lot and it made sure that the florist I hired knew and understood my vision. She got it down perfectly for my wedding.

I emailed the ones I was interested in. I started by asking if they were available for our date & when/where our wedding was. If they were, I asked for pricing. Some had pricing sheets and some asked what we wanted. I knew the estimate of number of tables we would have (so centerpieces needed), I knew how many bouquets, corsages & boutineers we needed, and I knew we wanted minimal aisle decor. It was helpful to have 3-4 pictures on Pinterest of what I wanted because I would send them for reference when I wanted a quote.

I emailed several vendors to ask for pricing and ultimately set-up three consultations. I actually made up a packet indicating exactly what we wanted along with pictures of what we were envisioning to explain (I'm bad with flower names so this was so much easier), and the florists were so appreciative I did this because they understood exactly what we were asking for!

Most florists have websites with a contact page where they ask for specifics about your wedding. I would start by reaching out to them there.

Yes, I emailed florists and brought 2 collage pages of pictures of flowers, bouquets, boutineers, etc. I sat down with them face to face and we discussed options, and prices. I also took pictures of my venue and church to explain what I was looking for.

I emailed some and actually sat down with two. The question that sealed the decision for me was how many weddings do you take on per weekend. One florist said as many as twenty, and the other said only one. I went with the one that would would be focused solely on my day.

I will also add the one that did a lot of weddings was about $300 cheaper so I was very honest with the other girl and said I really like you and if you can come off your pricing a little we can make it happen. She was very ameniable to negotiating!
