How do I find a Justice of the Peace in PA?

Julia, on February 25, 2014 at 4:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

I want to have a non-religious ceremony. How can I find a Justice of the Peace in PA to marry us?

    @ItsGoodToBeKing: Thanks, but we're looking for non-religious, not non-denominational. There are ministers who do non-religious weddings, but that just feels kind of weird to me.

    @Kate: I've tried a simple google search. All that it comes up with is that JPs are able to perform weddings in PA, but how do I actually find one?

    Non-denominationals are usually more "liberal" and willing to work with your non-religious wants and are easier to find. I took all the god and jesus out of our ceremony. My friend did all poetry for hers, OR try and find a same-sex union officiant, they're usually used to non-religious ceremonies.

    Try Judith Guash, if you're near Gettysburg. Non-denominational ministers will probably work with you to make your ceremony what you want, and I know she does.

    @Kate: Weird, that link didn't show up for me. Thanks.

    @ ItsGoodToBeKing: That's true... but I'm wondering if there's a difference in cost?

    @Celia: Thanks for the recommendation.

    In PA, you can also self marry. Worth looking into if you think that would work for you.
