How do I ask my ring bearer & flower girl??

Welll...my ring bearer is my nephew and he's almost two and had no idea what was going on..so i asked his mom if he he could be in my wedding

my flower girl was three when she was in my wedding and honestly didn't really understand it either...but to kind of coax her down the aisle beforehand lol my mom bought her a bridal barbie to give her.

maybe you could buy your flower girl something like that and ask her? i mean it doesn't have to be a barbie but something wedding related like that.

I would definitely ask the parents first...but it sounds like you already did that! I got a personalized coloring book for our ring bearer and flower girl (www.personalizationmall.com) that turned out soooo cute! They're not just personalized on the front, they're personalized with their name throughout too. For the 8 year old, I would buy a special gift like a pearl bracelet or a necklace that she will cherish. Etsy is a great place to look for that!

My 2 year old nephew was my ring-bearer… but no formal asking. His mom was my MOH, so it was just understood. I think at that age, you'd be doing it more for you than the actually kid, since the kid won't fully understand.

No formal asking I guess. We talked to my DH's sister first and then asked the kids over the phone (they are long distance). The 5 year old understood because she had been a flowergirl before but the 3 year old was pretty much clueless.

I think FH's brother and SIL already know we are going to ask, but we are going to talk to them this weekend. I think we will wrap a Ring Pop for Christmas and have him open it, though. Because he's super smart and would understand what was going on. He's almost 3.

I asked their mom's first to see if they were OK with it. Then just asked them...I don't know that they really knew what I was talking about so I just said they would get to wear some cool clothes if they were.

I did an ask for my ring bearer, flower girl and junior bridesmaid (Ages 2,3,12,14) ! I basically created a fun poem, a little gift and wrapped it up! We did a cute little presentation for them and they opened them at the same time. It was really fun for us to see them get excited and it got them excited for the wedding too.
