How do I find someone to custom make a gown?

I was just wondering, how do I even start to go about trying to find a seamstress to make a wedding gown for me? I would really prefer to find someone local, honestly, so if need be I can go for a fitting, meet the person, feel comfortable about the whole process, etc, etc.

Any tips or ideas?

Google! Haha "custom wedding dress -insert city name-" I found 5 here in Portland Oregon. Also if you have larger cities not goo far (I also googled in Seattle) then check out as far as you are willing to drive. I am still debating custom vs. store bought.

Yea I also searched 'custom wedding dress' to find mine. Hmmm perhaps try seamstress in your keywords?
