We both were born in the same city in South East Asia. We have quite a few mutual friends when we were still living there. He moved to Germany at age 18 in 1992 to study, and I moved to Germany at age 15 in 1994.


In summer of 1996 we met once a week in a Catholic Student Organization in Berlin. It wasn’t love at the first sight to me. I was told from a mutual friend that he was interested in me, and I didn’t pay much attention in the beginning. I wasn’t looking for any relationship at all at that time.
However, I kept catching him looking at me, and I thought it was cute. He was super shy. Never dated anyone before at his age of 21. After 3 months of patiently waiting for him to ask me out, I got impatient so I asked him out. I asked if he could teach me iceskating. He said “yes!” I can see and hear his excitement 😂
We met at the outdoor ice skate ring, and when we both stepped our feet on the ice, I almost slipped and hold tight on him. Turns out he was about to slip too! Apparently he could not iceskate 🤣. He said yes because I asked him out, and not that he could teach me. Haha.... I fell in love with him on that exact moment ❤️

My now fiance wrote to me on OkCupid in October 2018, I only responded to his message in December, we started talking every day and eventually started video calling on a daily basis. He visited me a couple of months later in Brazil as I come from Rio de Janeiro and that`s how everything began!

Ours is less a love story and more of a whaaaatttttt!!???!?! Okay so. I was in a relationship with a guy. The one night I spent with dude I saw an app on his phone and didn't know what it was (I was new to the whole smart phone thing and was therefore naive). I downloaded it to find that it was a dating app. I put on my profile that I was not, in fact, single and not to message me because I was looking to see what dude was up to on that app. Weeks go by and nothing so I just broke up with dude. Later that day my prince charming walked right into my messages and asked me why the heck I was on a dating app if I was seeing someone. We got to chatting and explained everything. We kept talking and a week or so later we met face to face. I was also living with my ex husband at the time (kids involved, I had no place to go so I had my own room and did the cooking cleaning and child rearing in exchange for a place to live) which made things difficult but here we are, 8 years later, planning our future ❤

We met on OKcupid. I’d been on it for almost a year without much success, was about to give up. We started talking in October, met for our first date in December, engaged in February. From the beginning it just felt like this was it.

We've known each other pretty much our entire lives, but became friends in 6th grade! our grandmothers are pretty much best friends, and we were best friends for quite a while (he even dated one of our other really close friends for a year and a half), but he finally asked me out junior year! we've been together ever since, and although we had to postpone our wedding, it's an unexpected but not so sad change, as our new wedding date is the six year anniversary of when he asked me out!

I got divorced at 48 and reconnected with a college bf. It was the worst thing I could have done. After 5+ years of h*## I kicked him out. I got counseling and she helped me by making me understand myself better. So I started internet dating. I met a guy - dated a year and he dumped me via text. Next one I dated for 4 months and got ghosted. So I decided - Last Time. I went on Plenty of Fish and was on it a few days and starting talking to a guy on Sunday. We texted all week - which I had never done. I thought this guy is too good to be true. If he’s even half of this in person, I’m going to snatch him up. (I didn’t want to remarry). Met him on Saturday night, talked and talked. First time I ever kiss a man on first date, first time I got in a car with someone I didn’t know, first time I invited someone I just met into my house. The date lasted 24 hours. He was exactly what he was in text and more. He is the love of my life. I’m 61, he’s 54. Getting divorced, being in a crap relationship, dumped ghosted-all worth it! He brings me joy every day. I love him more and more each day. I can’t wait to be his wife!
