I was engaged for a year. however i'm not positive that i took a year to plan because i certainly took a long break from wedding planning during that year so i want to say it was more like 9 ish months of planning

Started talking about a 15 months out (not long after we got engaged) - but really didn’t get serious till 9 - 10 months out.

I had given up on him proposing...so when he did (with the board game Wavelength) on Christmas Day I was shocked. We had our date set (Halloween this year) by New Years and I’ve planning pretty much nonstop since then.

My fiance and I started planning our wedding around 10 months ahead of time, and had the wedding 90% planned at the time we postponed to 2022 due to COVID.

I'm not exactly sure how long it would have taken to really plan everything out because of covid. It hindered a lot of things as far as time frame and what I could get done. As far as his proposal, we were on our first cruise together (my first cruise outside of the military) with his parents as a college graduation gift.

We'd be dating for a little over a year. It was captain's night so we were dressed up for dinner and went to the top deck afterwards for photos. That's when he got on one knee and proposed as his dad recorded (a very dark) video. They didn't turn the light on cause they didn't want me to think something was going on lol.

We probably didn't get serious about planning a wedding until 2-3 months after getting engaged, but that was because I was sent out of the country on a work project for a month, so I couldn't focus on anything else except making sure I was good for travel lol. When we set our date of 10/3/20, we had less than 365 days to plan so I we immediately started planning for everything else, but then COVID happened so we postponed. Now I have a whole extra year to procrastinate haha.

He proposed during a beach weekend we had had scheduled for months with my sister and his sister (a sibling weekend, so to speak). Our sisters knew that he would be proposing and were there when he did it to take pictures/video. All of our parents knew beforehand as well, so really, it was just me who didn't know lol. He made it a point to do it while we were at the hotel getting ready for dinner so that he could say he proposed to me by the beach, but not on the beach, as he was terrified of dropping the ring in the sand.

We actually got engaged this year, but had been friends for 5 years & initially joked about getting married until he was like "so...we're getting married?" and I replied "I guess we are". Not the most romantic or common way to get engaged, but it'll be a nice story to tell lol

We started planning basically right away though. Engaged in April, booked our venue in June, and I found my dress a few weeks ago. Our wedding is in July.

We got engaged Dec 31, 2018, got married Aug 24, 2019.

...I am not a patient person, and I waited 6 1/2 years for him to propose. So, we did not wait very long to get married.

My engagement was VERY similar lol we haven't been together as long, but one day we were talking and decided to pick a date. It was all just a very casual conversation. We picked the wedding date before even being officially engaged lol. I was a little sad because I had planned out and bought all of this stuff to do a big proposal and she stole my thunder lol but I love our weird story!

Yeah it was! I think I'm more mind blown that he not only kept his scheme hidden, but also that he got our families to not spill the beans haha.

Our engagement will be 15 months long! Sometimes it feels like it is too long because I am ready to marry my best friend and sometimes I feel like it isn't long enough for me to plan what I want our wedding to be lol

By the time I’m married I will be engaged 6 years and 7 months. And it took me 9 months to plan but then the pandemic came, so by the new date comes it will be a year and 7 months.
