How cold is too cold?

Ashley, on August 29, 2018 at 11:17 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
We’re getting married January 31st in South Florida. Average temp is high 70s low 50s. Both our ceremony and reception are outdoors. Ive lived in Florida all my life so i know its risky, it could be warm but it could be very cold. How cold is too cold?

70s in the afternoon with the sun out and 70s at night are very different things. Would you be renting heaters?

I'm getting married in Key Largo January 1st, and I live in south Florida. I would love if it got down in the 50s on any regular basis. Ha ha I'm just letting everyone know it may get below 70 at night, and women may want a shawl or sweater. Most are coming down from the northeast and will find the weather to be glorious. Lol

Anything under 60 I would not want to be outside in a dress for.

I'd make sure to have like backup heaters just in case. My aunt got married in January in Texas, and it was BITTERLY cold, like in the 40s or lower. Everyone was miserable and bundled up the whole time.

50s is pretty cold. Could you do an indoor reception? And outdoor ceremony? Especially with the coastal breeze. If you really want to do it, I'd start budgeting for fire pits & heat lamps & maybe think about blankets as favors for guests? I'd also tell guests it's outside on the invite so they know to dress warm.
