How can I incorporate my grandfathers tie into my dress or accessories?

Markiee, on June 27, 2017 at 8:20 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Hi I need ideas on hoe to incorporate my grandfathers tie into my dress or accessories? My grandfather passed away a few years ago but I want to have a piece of him with me. I just so happen to have his wedding tie that he wore to my parents wedding and would somehow like to ware it. Any suggestions would be great thanks

Edit

I forgot to say I don't want to cut it up so if in the future my younger brother could wear it on his wedding day.

Wrap it around you bouquet. If you're okay cutting it, cut out a small heart and have it sewn into the inside of your dress

Are you okay with maybe taking a piece out of it and putting it into a hairpiece somehow? Or using the cloth from it as your bouquet wrap (part around the stems)?

You could also have your future husband or father wear it in honor of him...I usually see this done as a bouquet wrap though.

My grandfather also passed away and I wanted to incorporate him somehow. I looked through his ties and ironic enough he had one that matches perfectly with our wedding colors. FH will be wearing my grandpa's tie on our wedding day.

Bouquet wrap! Or sew it into the dress? Use the fabric to make a bow to attach to a belt? Have FH wear it?

I knew someone who had their florist fold the tie into the bouquet so it looked like an flower. It was awesome.

Hope you don't mind a vendor posting on this! Here's a picture from my own wedding where I wrapped a necktie around my bouquet. My florist pinned it in place and I held it with the tie tip in front so it looked like a necktie. Just be careful with the material and placement of the pins. If it's a really soft silk tie a pin may snag the tie easily. Also, remove the tie from the flowers after your wedding to avoid any moisture from the bouquet affecting the tie.
