How are you wearing your veil?

I was wondering how this work. I thought you are suppose to wear your veil over your face, but now I see some brides wearing them not to cover their faces. And some do not wear them at all. Isn't the groom suppose to throw it over your face when the pastor say you may kiss your bride? How are you...

And does it matter which hair style you wear in order to wear it over your face?

There's a new trend of a two-veil bride, when the bride wears one veil for the ceremony, long and grand, with a blusher, and then a birdcage veil or a small headpiece for the reception. I've made quite a few long ones for the two veil brides who felt they wanted the blusher experience!

I personally like the blushers when it's a drop veil, so there's no poof and the drape looks so incredible in pictures.

BTW: If you don't want to wear a viel, then don't! Just tell your mom you feel uncomfortable wearing a viel..

I am actually planning to wear an elbow length veil over my face until I've come down the aisle & my dad pulls it up over my face. I've tried one on several times with several different dresses & loved it! Of course it is all in what you like. Each time I tried it I wore my hair down and liked it better than an updo.

My veil is single layer too so im not wearing it over my face. My hair is going to to half up & down, my hair stylist is putting it directly behind my tiara & it easily slips out for reception timeSmiley smile I hope this helps!! Happy Planning!!!

Right now I not sure if I am wearing a veil. I not really fond of them and so far all the ones I tried on are fussy and over done.

I'm wearing a veil for the ceremony and some pictures. I just always imagined my daddy lifting my veil at the front of the church. I'm getting a fingertip length single layer veil. Apparently if you fluff it of your face and spray hari spray (spray away from your face, lol) on to the veil it stiffens and will stay out of your face better. Make sure you also practice with whoever is lifting it and make sure to let you MOH/bridesmaids know that if it doesn't look right they need to fix it or it will look dumb in ALL of your pictures through the ceremony! oh and I'm wearing my hair half up half down.

Butterfly aren't you getting married at a renesance(sp) fair? If thats true you could use the tradition of bride never being seen by the groom before the wedding in case of nobility. It actually comes from around that time frame.

I'm not a veil girl so I found a crystal comb that I will wear. I also think a veil will take away from my dress because of the thick straps on it.
