Yes we have a contract, and he is refunding our full balance, but how am I going to find a DJ in literally 9 days that isnt already booked?

Why did they cancel? Will they refund your money?

Look on Thumbtack and see if there is anyone available. I would also contact any other DJs you were considering and see if they are available.

Oh no girl! Can you mass email out on wedding wire and request a bunch of quotes? It isn't peak season yet (depending on where you are) so maybe you'll be surprised, some may still be available!💗💗

I'd also reach out on your local FB wedding group, if you have one. We have one in my area that's full of vendors who are always able to lend a hand.

Did you see if you DJ had any contacts he could recommend? Agree with what others have said, FB, thumbtack, and even your venue might be able to help. Or see if any of your other vendors (ex: photographer, caterer, etc) have any connections. Good luck!

Woaaahhh that is so not cool. I agree with the others on giving thumbtack a go.

If you have a friend/family members or co workers ask them if they know a dj who can do it or possibly look on line. if you have a favorite place you go to that has a live band or dj, see if they are willing to play for you.

Ask your venue if they have preferred vendors, they might have someone.

Can you ask your current DJ for a referral? Our dj was his own business so I was concerned if he couldn’t do it, but he had a whole network of peers with whom he has a good working relationship and he said he’d put the word out and ask around amongst them if there had been an emergency come up and affect his availability

Thank you everyone for the advice and well wishes. Our DJ did get someone to fill in for him, and we are meeting him today. I am hoping we like him as much.
