Hotel two night minimum

We had to postpone to May 29, 2021, which is memorial day weekend. We are having a hard time getting hotel room blocks due to the holiday weekend and two-night minimums. Anyone else that has had a holiday weekend wedding - any suggestions? I don't think my guests will pay for two nights, and for our original date SO many people booked the hotel to be able to drink and have a great time without worrying about getting home.

I think that's a pretty standard requirement for hotels, AirBnbs, etc. for holiday weekends. That plus airfare increases are why travel is usually more expensive for those weekends. I understand you probably didn't have much choice on the date since you were rescheduling, but is it possible to pick a non-holiday weekend? That would definitely make it cheaper for guests to attend.

My wedding is Labor Day weekend this year in a major metropolitan area and there wasn’t a two night minimum or even a higher rate for our room block. I’m sure you’re already planning to keep looking and escalating your request to managers, but maybe also ask your venue if they have any suggestions or contacts. My venue events manager gave me the contact info for the hotel we made our block with.
