Hotel Room. Real or Fake Petals?

Eric, on August 15, 2017 at 6:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 29

I'm a bit of an awkward guy. To add to that I have never been involved in a picture wedding, and only been to 2. So of course now that I'm getting married at the end of the month the anxiety is there to make sure I do everything I can to make this day special for my fiancee.

Been stumbling on this for a while. Decorating the cabin we have after the wedding (candles, rose petals, etc.). Is it worth getting real rose petals? Should I just go for silk and maybe rose scented candles?

Might be an odd question. I just want everything to be perfect. Thank you!

I think the silk with the candle would be nice.

As a future bride I would think either was great but I would be sad to see all the wilted petals in the morning. Plus the lights will be down and candlelight so silk will look just fine in my opinion.

I'd say silk because real rose petals can stain white sheets and dresses!

Better use silk petals and some real roses in a vase next to the bed.

I'm also team real, especially for a wedding.

I prefer real rose petals as well. Real flowers, real petals, and candles would be heavenly!

But if you do go team silk...Mason Margiela makes a scent called "Flower Market" that is offered in a candle, which smells exactly like its name...it is divine!

I was team real until my friends did this for our wedding night suite. The real petals were very romantic and fine the next morning (not wilted), but they stained the white bed spread and sheets.

Real can stain. Also does your fiancé have any flower allergies? Very sweet of you to be planning this out.

I think it's sweet. Usually I'm on team real, but go with silk in this case.

Silk petals! Plus a bouquet or two of roses in a vase next to the bed for the nice smell (not rose scented candles. those smell bad typically. Regular candles are nice)

So sweet! Go for silk since real petal will stain anything white and will be a pain to clean up in the morning

Silk are a lot easier to clean up... but I'd nix the rose scented candle. Those are pretty strong. Get some real roses to put next to the bed and use the silk.... then you have them for the future ;-)

Do real but get white so they do not stain. If you drink also do a bottle of real champagne

Silk if you are going to have red petals. Real makes a huge mess.
