Hey everyone! I am a bridesmaid for a friend who is getting married really soon! Has anyone else decorated the hotel room for the newlywed couple? I just think it will be so nice for them to come back to their hotel after a long wedding day and find it decorated by their wedding party! I'm thinking rose petals and congrats balloons and champagne or something. I'm not sure how to go about it, but I imagine i'll have to find a key to their hotel room? Any tips/ideas appreciated!Thanks for your help!!

That's a nice idea, but have you checked with the hotel to see if housekeeping will clean that up? I worked in housekeeping during college and we only got so much time to clean all the rooms. I absolutely hated cleaning rooms with stuff like this because it put me behind on all the other rooms...

Oh hey thats a really good point... Maybe just a nice card, basket of flowers and champagne bottle on the table. No flower petals!

As someone who has been in hotels for 12+ years, I second I_CRE8. Rose petals stain very easily (our venue prohibits them), and most hotels have white linens. Talk to the hotel before doing anything, otherwise you will be costing the bride and groom a hefty fine.
ETA: you probably won't be able to get into their room, so your best bet is to have someone from the hotel desk place the items in the room. They may even go above and beyond what you had in mind.

Our venue makes us a wedding night box full of food and cake from the wedding. If their venue doesn't do that packing stuff like that up for them would be so nice! Then they could have some drinks and unwind. It isn't decorations but it would be appreciated!
