Hi everyone,

Do you have any suggestions as to how I can word that we will not be doing hotel room blocks for my wedding?

You don’t need to explicitly tell people that you aren’t doing a room block. Not mentioning a room block makes it pretty clear that you don’t have one.

I agree with Caytlyn. No need to mention that you don’t have one.

I totally agree that you don't need to mention that you aren't doing a hotel block. However, for my website, I wanted to give a couple of suggestions to guests for places to stay in close proximity to the venue. Ours says, "There are many hotels in proximity to our venue. We do not have any blocks at specific hotels, but offer these suggestions:"

I think just offering suggestions nearby would serve the purpose.

I think just adding a few nearby suggestions would get the job done. The room blocks in my experiment haven’t been a huge price break anyways. The convenience has been that 1 shuttle can take all your guests from the same hotel, so I would consider it. If you’re in an area that doesn’t charge a fee to hold the rooms then why not pick a hotel? We are getting a complimentary suite the day before and day of our wedding as well as free shuttles. That’s all if we fill 15 guests rooms (but we will probably fill 40) so no problem at all and no penalty if it’s not met and my guests save like $10 bucks. I don’t see why you wouldn’t look into it

I agree either don't mention it at all or just call out some nearby places. We have a hotel block but because I don't know how many people will actually stay there (some will, some wont) I have also mentioned what areas of the city the ceremony and reception will be in if they want to look for something else nearby.

If you're not doing them, I don't think there is a need to mention it. My brother did not do room blocks for his wedding and didn't mention not having them to guests. My FH and I are doing room blocks and we put the info on a accommodation card that we included with the invitations. If you're not doing them, just skip the accommodation cards
