Hotel Final Payments

Hey Ladies!

I am about a month out from my wedding and have paid off my venue, which is a hotel. We gave them our final counts last week. We have an F&B minimum of $10,000 which we paid but due to us having a smaller group of people, we only come in at $7500.

Will I still have a final payment and what does a final payment even entail if we're paid in full? Wondering if anyone has any insight!

I believe you pay the difference. My F&B is $8500. If we don’t meet it we are still required to pay the amount for use of the venue.

Thanks Donna! In our case, we were required to pay the $10,000, which we already did. Our final numbers brought us in at $7800. So I'm asking if we would still have a final payment if we've already paid the F&B minimum.
Essentially we have $2,100 extra we paid to meet the minimum.

I’ve heard some places allow you to add in something extra to help cover the difference like an upgraded bar or extra food station

Sounds like you shouldn’t have to pay anything more unless there’s other fees or taxes on top of the minimum.

You should be good! I concur with @Amber. See if there are any extras you can add in that will cover the $2100.

I would look into this! You have to pay that “extra” money anyway, but maybe you can get more champagne or appetizers with it.

If you paid in full, you shouldn't owe anything! As PP mentioned I would look into adding something instead of giving them free money. I also have a $10000 minimum but will only use around $9000 so we're adding a cheese display to our appetizers.
