Hotel blocks

You can try to reach out to hotels as early as you'd like! For 2022, now would be a good time to start reaching out to get info from nearby hotels. However, I have noticed that some places are not able to reserve a room block unless it's within a year of the arrival date. Wedding Wire has a room block tool that you can use to help you get quotes from hotels, or you can call the hotels directly to get info.

Oh you're right! Most hotels don't have a calendar available until a year out. Thanks for that information, I didn't know about that tool.

I just called hotels near my venue and asked to speak to the sales department. I learned one perk of the pandemic was locking in cheaper hotel rates Wouldn't hurt to reach out now, but like Lisa said, they might not reserve blocks yet for an event more than a year out.

You can reach out now and a phone call is more than enough!

I had no luck with reservation blocks. All wanted me to sign a crazy contract that put me on the line for damages,, for a maybe $20/night saving. Good luck with your search, read that contract carefully!

I’m having my wedding in a hotel & got the wedding blocks within 3 weeks of signing contract. It’s never too early to make accommodations for your wedding day once you have booked a venue.
