Hotel blocks

My hotel let me book about 15 months out, but I didn't get a code/link until about 10 months out.

We booked ours 14 months out. It was the very first thing we did after booking the venue! We needed to have the link to the room block up and running before we sent out save the dates

I say book now. I booked my block a few months ago for my October 2023 wedding and the hotel is nearly booked full already. Other hotels don't have availability either. If you don't put money on the block, which you shouldn't have to, there's no harm in booking early. My guests won't be able to book rooms until 50 weeks before the wedding, but the hotel is keeping the rooms available.

I work at a hotel, my advise is that if you are getting married in a popular tourist area then you need to block them asap, or as soon as they will allow. June is vacation month and if in a tourist or vacation area they will book up most times a year in advance. I work in Gettysburg PA and if you wait until 3 months in Gettysburg you wont have rooms.
