Hotel block negotiation

Rachel, on November 16, 2018 at 11:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
Hey everyone!!
I am currently negotating with a hotel that gave me the best deal on hotel block for our wedding.
The rate is good and as low as they can go, the threw in a discounted parking pass for all guests, free wifi and free upgrade for me and my FH. Should i be asking for any more?

What else should I be sure to know before i sign contract?

Thanks
Rachel

Make sure it’s a courtesy block and you are not financially responsible for any rooms.

Do they give out gift bags for the guests (if you want to make them)? Does that cost anything? Do you get a discount if you have a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, or next day brunch there? Will guests have the choice between a 1 king or 2 queen room? Is the hotel pet friendly? What is there to do nearby? Do they have room service?

Mine gave my FH and I a free honeymoon suite when we got to 10 rooms booked and a free shuttle to / from the venue when we got to 20 rooms booked and then finally a free night to use anytime in the next year when we got to 30 rooms booked. This was a Sheraton. I wish I could have gotten mine to deliver welcome bags to the rooms at no cost to me but they wouldn't agree to do that. Good luck!
