How much of a discount did you all get for your hotel blocks? i.e. a certain $ or % off regular room rate.

I'm getting some information together on area hotels to call and request room blocks... I can't block off any until next month (12 months ahead) but I want to be prepared. I've already called a few of them close to my venue to discuss their policies, and I have at least two in mind I want to work with. I'd like to know what is a good $ or % discount to ask for (if there's any negotiating )

Any other amenities I should ask about? i.e. suite for bride & groom, family discounts, etc?

I am getting 10% off of guest rooms for the hotel block.

Some perks I have seen for hotel blocks include- free upgraded room for bride and groom the night of the wedding, free rone night stay for bride and groom for every ten guest rooms booked, parent and bridal party discounts of 20%.

Every hotel seems to have their own deals but I think in general you should be getting 10% off the room price as a good guide. Some places will negotiate too so definitely ask, but don't be unreasonable with a request.

I think ours was about $20? 139 regularly and got them for 109?

It seems like of the ones I contacted, they all took $10-$15 dollars off their usual price. The perks they are giving us include a free stay for us and a free shuttle to/from reception if 10 or more rooms are booked.

The regular rate for the hotel we chose is $140 and our guests are getting them for $100. I never thought to ask about the amenities. I think it comes with free breakfast.

Our room block is for the Radisson for 129. That sounds like a lot but rooms in the month im getting married it into the high 200 due to Spring Training being that month. Hotels make enough during that time to last them all year. Everyone around this area knows that so they are happy with the rate. Plus it includes a shuttle which everyone is pretty happy about.
