How much would you budget to host an open bar for about 4.5 hours with 75 guests? I know it is a very general question, but I really have nooo idea based on consumption how much we should budget for that. Help me! :/

Lauren- last thing, I just noticed! We are considering August 16th too! Our venue has a contract ready to go with the 16th, but we're not sure yet. We may want to push it back to September or up to July! We'll have it finalized by November Smiley smile

Well if the groom requests it, then it's no longer optional. 4 drinks in 4 hours is no problem for most of my friends, but I see your point about how Grandma will balance out young heavy drinkers. Too bad you can't have top shelf of only the liquids your FH drinks.

Felicia - Oh fun! I'd love to come...not sure if I can, what time were you guys thinking? FH has been in Atlanta since sunday morning and he comes back at around 5pm on friday. I live in Shadowridge in Vista so San Marcos would be nice and close!

Lol. Sooo true! I don't want a groomzilla on my hands! And actually the lady was telling us we can choose which specific bottles we want to purchase so we're not stuck with stuff no one wants to drink. Or something in that sense. So, we're prob going to split it. He'll take care of choosing what he likes and I'll take care of what I like and what everyone else will prob enjoy. My family and friends aren't as picky. They just like the idea of an open bar Smiley smile

We had to do this and the beer and wine ranged from $3 (budlight) to $5.50 (Founders beer). for 50 guests it totaled us $600 for 3 hours. We were AMAZED by this because we expected it to be higher. Hope this helps.
