Host, hostess and usher

Jazna, on March 30, 2014 at 9:43 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Im having a hard time deciding what they will wear. I don't want them to have to spend a lot of money on something to wear. My wedding colors are turquoise and gray with purple accent. I wanted the ladies to wear a dark purple like plum color but every dress I saw in the color is either ugly or cost too much.....I need s some advice

What are your host, hostess and ushers wearing?

I've never been to a wedding with hosts and hostesses, but ushers normally just wear suits, as in whatever they would normally wear. Maybe you could buy them matching ties as a present...

I'm confused. The host/hostess should be the person hosting (paying for) the wedding, amirite? Ushers would be dressed like your groomsmen.

I'm not having ushers, but my brother is greeting and assisting guests. He's wearing a black suit with a gold tie (this is also what the fathers are wearing). The wedding party are in dark tan suits. Do you mean host/hostess as the person greeting guests or announcing what's happening? My DOC is giving the welcoming message and also greeting guests. She's wearing whatever she wants to, but I'm sure she won't show up in bright red or anything that might clash.

My ushers are wearing black suits and my hostesses are wearing whatever they want.

@Mizangi my hostesses are greating guests, showing people to their seats at the reception and watching over the gifts.

Our ushers are just wearing what suits they already own, since they are just some of our guy friends. My one really good girlfriend who didn't want to commit to being a bridesmaid is our "hostess", basically passing out the programs and then after the ceremony showing people where the escort cards/guest book is. She picked her own dress in a similar purple to the BMs.

My ushers will have a vest and tie that coordinates with the groomsmen. I have two friends that will be hosts (welcome guests arriving early and direct to ceremony location). I will give them a coursage so they are distinguished from other guests.

One hostess wearing a purple dress matching my colors. My sisters who are helping decorate are wearing black.

Can they wear all black and you provide the ushers with a tie in your colors and the hostesses with a matching scarf or corsage?

    Thanks everyone

Our hostess are greeting everyone and passing out programs . They will also be making sure they sign the guest book and one will be taking pictures of the guest(s) as they come in for our guest book. Out Ushers which are the guys will be walking single ladies to their seats and elderly people. at the reception they are their to help people find their seats and check them in since we are having a invite only reception.

@futuremrsadams that's what we decided to do after discussing it with my mother. Our hostesses will wear black dresses and we are making them turquoise and purple corsages and the usher will have on black pants with white top with dark purple ties.

    Thanks again everyone
