Hose or No Hose

Claire, on September 23, 2017 at 6:48 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Black tie optional winter wedding in Manhattan. Hose or no hose? I don't want to be cold, but don't want my look to be dated or have a summer look. Length of dress not determined yet.

I'd just wear a long dress. I guess you could wear pantyhose underneath if you think you'd be cold. Definitely a long dress though.

It's your wedding - wear what you're comfortable in! You'll probably kick yourself if you don't wear hose and are then cold the whole day.

Took me a bit to understand what you meant by 'hose or no hose' :o Sorry, haven't worn them in about 20 yrs & that was when I was really thin/still found them uncomfortable.

    I vote 'no hose'.

ETA Not to mention that I found them to be a total pain when using the rest room, also.

Well then wait until you figure out the dress situation first.

No hose. Wedding dresses are much hotter than you'd think, especially if its long and there's crinoline underneath.

I always wear nylons in the winter when I wear skirts/dresses to work because I'm always cold. I'm in an outdoor wedding in November and plan to wear nylons under the long bridesmaids dress.

Might be TMI; but if I had to wear hose again...I'd opt for a garter belt, thigh highs n could wear a panty over them...way easier in the rest room!

Could you just bring a pair with you & have them/put them on if you got cold?!?

I take it you are a guest at the wedding? If I am wearing a cocktail length dress in chilly weather, I wear hose. But I only wear hose with interest to them, like a seam down the back, or a subtle pattern, not flesh colored, which I think looks odd and dated. Long dress, I generally go without hose.

If you get cold easily then wear it, I would!

I usually wear a long dress for a black tie event. In all winter events , I wore fleeced line footless tights. Kept me warm and toasty . No one's going to see it anyway Smiley smile

There are a lot of tights if you opt to wear a cocktail dress.

My favorite one that I own are black opaque tights with rhinestones which I got from a Korean online store.
