Hors D'oeuvres Price Per Person?

Pegs, on February 13, 2018 at 4:02 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

How much did you pay per person for your hors d'oeuvres?

Trying to get quotes and I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off lol I realize it'll be different in various geographic regions.

This really varies by caterer too, not just geography.

Our cocktail hour pp cost was $15 before tax and service charge and that included cheese/crackers, fruit/veggies/dip, chicken fingers, stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped scallops and tomato and mozzarella skewers. Our caterer did packages instead of individually priced items.

Our hors d'oeuvres were not priced per person, but by item. They ranged from $1.50 each to $5.00 depending on the item. Meatballs on a skewer, for example, were $1.50, while ahi tuna wontons were $5.00 each.

We spent a total of $2000 on all of our hors d'oeuvres (200 people) so it came out to only $10 per person.

Ours is priced by item & in groups of 50 pieces. It's coming out to roughly $17/pp after tax. Includes a charcuterie display, fruit display, & 3 tray passed (Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs, Teriyaki Beef Croquettes, & Jumbo Tiger Prawn).

Our hors d'oeuvres had different price structures. Some were priced per piece with the range being $6-$7 per piece (these were passed). Others were priced per person with the range being $12-$16 per person (this was the charcuterie station and the cheese station). Then we also had a baked wheel of brie cheese that was priced at $150 per order.
