Honor Attendant?

on August 29, 2019 at 2:55 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
Hey guys! So I want to include my fiancé’s Aunt in the wedding party I guess. Let me explain better. We would love to have her walk down the aisle with one of the groomsmen. She’s super nice and so supportive. She’s more of a mum to my fiancé and really good to me than is actual mum. His parents are divorced so we’re having his brother walk with his mum. I don’t want her to just walk into the church like any other guest? Is that okay to do? What would her title be? I saw “honor attendant” online but I don’t know what that means. Lol. She’s in her late 50s, single and no kids..I don’t want to do anything disrespectful. Help me. Thanks

I don't think you have to give her a title if you can't find one that's fitting. Like grandparents are generally walked down the aisle to show respect, I think you could do the same thing for her Smiley smile

I agree. You can just honor her as the aunt of the groom, that’s a good enough title.

I agree that "aunt of the groom" is a wonderful descriptor and also calls her out specifically, which is what you want.

Hey there! I think that this is such a thoughtful and kind thing to want to do for your FHs aunt. It is obvious that she means a lot to you so honoring her in this way will be a great way for you to show this.

If you can't find a title that you feel works for her, 'aunt of the groom' is still perfect.
