My fiancee and I are looking into cheap European honeymoons and can't decided where to go and how long to go for. Does anyone have a good low budget plan for a European honeymoon?tenor.gif

It depends on your definition of "cheap" and where in Europe you want to go. You may want to contact a travel agent or consider a Mediterranean cruise?

You also may want to consider... We are in the middle of someone else's war. We thought about every aspect of the travel part. I just felt safer on US soil for now. You can always travel after the fact.🤷🏾‍♀️

Prague was one of the cheapest cities we went to in Europe. It is beautiful and traditional and lovely. The most expensive places are the Scandanavian countries like Norway and Denmark so I would probably not look at those places. PP makes a good point about it being a little scary to be over there at the moment - how long until your honeymoon? Smiley smile

Well, we decided to go on a group tour through Cosmos. We're going for 9 days and visiting like 7 countries and with flights the cost was about $1700. You could find cheaper options but they're less days so not sure how long you want your honeymoon. Maybe utilize a travel agent. We are using one for the first time and they've been so great at finding an awesome honeymoon vacation for us.

Not for a long time. We are getting married in two years but wanted a few ideas so when we plan our Honeymoon we would have done our research already. 😊

I’m not going cheap by any means, but the UK and Ireland are gorgeous and can be done for far less than what we’re paying. The less time spent on the honeymoon will also play a factor in cost, along with using self-catering AirBnBs/VRBOs to cut down on the cost of food.

I agree! We are doing a 9 night Italian Riviera cruise on Celebrity Cruise Line May of 2023. Although not "cheap" by some standards, the benefits of a cruise are the all inclusive aspects of it (meals, drinks, snacks, entertainment), and also not having to constantly pack and unpack to move to different cities.

My fiance went to Greece in the shoulder season, and it was extremely affordable. We stayed at nice hotels in Athens and Santorini for <100 USD a night, and street food (gyros and souvlaki) costs like 3, and restaurants are pretty cheap too. Spain and Portugal are also pretty cheap and beautiful

I agree with PP that the most expensive countries will be the northern most (Norway, Sweden, etc.) and cheapest are central/eastern (Czech Republic, Hungary, etc.) and I think Portugal and Greece as well. I personally LOVE central Europe, but I'd do some research first and decide what you want to see and do (like whether you want to chill at a beach, explore cities, etc.). There's also some airlines that have super cheap fares to Europe (like less than $500/person, but none of the bells and whistles like meals or even drinks included), but with layovers in Iceland - could be cool to spend a day or two there too!

Europe is a great place for a cheap honeymoon - reason being is that you don't really need activities. italy and UK for instance are beautiful on their own just wandering around and looking at the architecture, going to the many free museums, etc. just figure out the flight and there are some cheap airbnb options.

Croatia is one of my absolute favorite places on earth. It’s completely stunning (if you’re in the mood for Greece/Italy, consider the southern coast of Croatia instead to save SO MUCH MONEY). When I was last there the conversion rate was AMAZING and you could get a lot of bang for your buck. The people are friendly and lovely, the food is amazing, and the weather can’t be beat!

I really like southern Germany. Nuremburg is gorgeous and has so much to see and do. I don't think it's too expensive, but that's subjective.
