So we’re going on our honey moon next month (November 11), we got married a few weeks ago. We’re going on a Carnival Cruise leaving from Miami. I booked the cruise a year ago, so it’s in my Maiden name. My last name is already changed. So on my license is my new name. Ive never been on a cruise before. Will I have any trouble?? Has anyone been in this situation? I have my license, birth certificate, and marriage certificate.

I believe you should be fine as long as you have something with your maiden name on it. Everything you mentioned you have with you should be proof enough to not cause you any trouble. If anything, I would also contact the company directly just to be on the safe side.

Call them before you leave and have them change your name on the ship’s manifest. Final guest names are usually due three days before sailing, so you may be able to change it if your cruise is not for a month.

The only problem with having them change my name, is I don’t have a passport or anything so I have to use my birth certificate. I’ll try calling tomorrow!

If it’s going off your birth certificate you likely won’t need to change anything. Just bring all your papers. But absolutely call.

I’ll call them to double check if is fine and just try to use your passport instead if this still has your maiden name. But to avoid headaches and hiccups I’ll call to double check.
