Has anyone honeymooned or plan to honeymoon in Disney World? Have you done a Disney cruise? We are planning a Disney honeymoon and can’t decide which to do...

We are thinking about it- only because we just can't decide where to go! There are quite a few countries, including France, that FH is not allowed to travel to (he's a govt worker and has secret clearance, and the US Govt restricts where he travel - 007 is real, lol). We figure if we at least go to Epcot then we can experience "the world"... we've been to WDW before (with the kids) but never to Universal, so we're thinking of Universal and Epcot, then renting a car and driving up through my favorite town in Georgia, staying a night or two, then driving to Myrtle Beach, SC, to end our trip at the beach.

My friend goes on a Disney cruise every year. She went on her honeymoon, too, and loved it. Personally, I want to get away from kids, so I wouldn't enjoy it. At least at WDW and Epcot I have more room to roam.

My sister told me to just pick a place but it's harder than it seems, right?? It's just not that easy!

Disney Cruise hands down! My Disney cruise was the most amazing cruise I have ever been on! It definitely beats out any other cruise line IMO. Disney World is great and all, don't get me wrong, but if you want to avoid long lines, crowds, cranky kids etc definitely go on the cruise. There are so many wonderful things to do on the ship that are geared directly for adults and not to mention the excursions!. We went to the Bahamas and spent a day at the Atlantis Resort, we were able to swim with dolphins, had access to the pools and waterslides. We also went to the Disney private island. You physically can not get to the island unless you are on a Disney cruise and only one ship can dock at a time, so there was no overcrowding, the weather was beautiful and we drank Mojitos on the white sand beach! Pure heaven.

We did a WDW minimoon,3 days no parks (except an afternoon in Universal). It was perfect!
We stayed at a deluxe resort and enjoyed lounging at the hotel, napped, watched movies, and sat in the hot tub. We had a nice celebratory dinner at Yatchmans steakhouse, and got pixi dusted with glasses of Champaign. Mousekeeping also delivered us chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of Champaign. You can’t count on getting pixi dust, but there’s always the chance, and I feel like honeymooners have a good chance of getting some.
Since we didn’t go to the parks and stayed at a deluxe resort, we didn’t have any issues with crazy rowdy kids, or feel like it wasn’t a romantic trip.
You can get a couples massage, watch the fireworks from the beach at the Poly, dinner at California Grill, yatchmans steakhouse or splurge on Victoria and Alberts. If you’re going to the parks, book a behind the scenes tour or book a dessert firework party. Jelly Rolls at the boardwalk looked like a lot of fun, but there was a cover charge so we didn’t go. There are so many options that will make it so different than a “typical” family Disney vacation.
