Okay! So my fiancé and I live in Indiana and getting married in Colorado. We still want to do a tropical honeymoon and originally we planned to leave Colorado straight to our honeymoon. But now I’m thinking maybe we should do a week in a Colorado, come home for a while, and maybe 6 months later or even on our anniversary do a honeymoon? Advice? I’m really not sure what to do.
If money is the reason I would wait. Sandals resorts allows you to pay a deposit to lock in the rate and make payments until it's paid off. That's what we did, and we're getting married and honeymooning in Jamaica for 7 days.
I'm in a similar boat. We are planning a European honeymoon, but we plan to leave 1-2 weeks after our wedding. This gives us time to destress and pack before we go on a big trip. We didn't want to do it several months later because it may not seem as special as newlyweds or we'd even keep putting it off and it might not ever happen. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, let alone planning a honeymoon!
