Honeymoon Vent!!!

Sarah, on June 18, 2019 at 10:52 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 11
So an update from my previous post! Talked to my travel agent and if we want to cancel our trip to Punta Cana amidst all the crazy deaths and illness, we would get a full refund and can then go on to book elsewhere. Being we are in hurricane season (late September into October) our options are limited and we are looking into Aruba.

But if we cancel our Punta Cana trip, we loose out on our swim up room! I can’t find any of those in Aruba and that’s the part I was most excited for I think. If it wasn’t for that, it would be a no brainer ughh

Oh this is frustrating. I’m sure Aruba offers something different and great. Don’t give up!

I hope you can find something and Aruba. I’m sorry that the media it’s making sound like the DR is a slaughterhouse, but it’s everyone's decision in the end.

I would say, it's not worth your safety. I personally, wouldn't chance it.
We are going to Saint Lucia.
Good luck! I'm sure it will all work out.

We struggled with this to, but we decided we are going (trip is in a month, right after the wedding).

Aruba is beautiful. When I was there, we just stayed in an AirBnB rather than a resort. There aren't too many around. I think Riu is the only adults only all inclusive. The Renaissance Aruba resort is the one that has the flamingos that you can swim with. We didn't go, but it looks cool. Eagle Beach is also the nicest beach I have ever been to, hands down. That water is a dream. I wanted to go back for our honeymoon, but we wanted Adults only all inclusive and the Riu was out of our price range.

We are going to sandals resorts in Grenada and they have swim up rooms there! We are getting married in October and going in our honeymoon right after so I did a lot of research and found the Grenada and Barbados are safe to go during hurricane season and they both have swim up rooms.

We went to the Tamarjin all inclusive in Aruba last year for New Years and it was absolutely wonderful. While they don’t have swim up pools, every room had an ocean view and there were bars right next to the pool. You also had access to their sister resort the Divi which was right next door and they had a golf cart shuttle between them.

We are going to Sandals Grenada in October too! I love that our room has it's own private pool! And everything is included!! I just read that they are mostly safe from hurricanes due to their location so that was a big relief!
