Honeymoon stress!!!

FutureMrsThompson, on May 1, 2017 at 9:18 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7

I have marked so many things off my list in the past couple months, and feel VERY accomplished. But, were hitting the 5 month mark and It's getting time to figure out the Honeymoon. Im very excited about it because we've narrowed ideas down to Antigua, Fijii, St.Lucia or St.Thomas. However, its one OF THE MOST stressful things I've done so far. Have any of you had as much trouble as im having? Im really thinking about getting a travel agent. Would that be a good idea? Also, are they worth the money, I assume they're a little expensive. Please & Thankyou!

Fiji will probably be the most expensive out of all your options but it's definitely worth it if you can swing it.

You can find cheaper all-inclusive options for Antigua, St. Lucia or St. Thomas.

Figure out what kind of experience you want to have (snorkeling etc) and figure out which location best suits your needs/wants. Trip advisor is very helpful if you want to look at hotel reviews for a certain location. We booked through funjet which I highly recommend if you decide to do it yourself. We started with a travel agent (in my experience there isn't much of a cost difference since they typically can get you better deals). However ours was a sandals rep and kept pressuring us to take a sandals vaca to Jamaica. We just went to Jamaica and were looking at Mexico locations. I dropped her and did it myself. But they do have more knowledge. It doesn't hurt to pick up the phone and get some quotes.

You would have a great time at any of those places, so don't stress yourself out too much comparing paradise to paradise! Maybe you can pass this task off to your FH? I gave my FH a few big tasks that he was in charge of, and the honeymoon was one of them. He did all the research and pricing, and then we went over it together to make decisions. Having said that, we did book our honeymoon about 10 months before our wedding. So, if you both are just super overwhelmed then just hire a travel agent!

Hi FutureMrsThompson, I am a travel agent and I have helped dozens of couples with their honeymoon plans. I'd be happy to assist you with yours, and as always, there is no fee for my service - so why stress over things and go it alone?

Please visit my storefront and check out our reviews on Google, Facebook, and here on WeddingWire. Give us a call and I'll be happy to help!

I've only just started a part time side gig as a travel agent and am not at all suggesting you use me (I'm not registered on here as a vendor yet and am not trying to promote myself) with my wedding less than a month away, I don't even have time at the moment. With that said, absolutely use a travel agent if you're having trouble. Most of the time, TA services are free to you.

Depending on the amount of time you have Fiji may be out. The flight is pretty brutal if you are only going for a week. Decide what you want out of your hm and then go from there. Once you narrow down your location then pick what's most important in a resort. Again then narrow it down. After that hit trip advisor and read lots of reviews.

Travel Agents rarely and I mean rarely charge a fee. The only time I have done it would be for an air only booking. If you want paper documents depending on vendors it can costs $19.95. Yep that's it. Everything else we get paid by the hotel or cruise line. They do not give you a discount if you book direct is also an urban legend. Travel is not stressful if you have a professional arrange it. What you do need to do is interview the agent. See who you fit best with just don't pick one. See if they have been to the destinations. Good luck and congrats!
