Honeymoon-resort or Air Bnb/vrbo

A lot of places don't really do much for honeymooners except maybe a champagne bottle or decoration of the room. From what I have heard.

We always prefer AIRBNB/VRBO unless it is a full "cater to you" type of resort.

We didn't have any fancy decorations or anything from hotels, but they did bring us champagne & chocolate covered strawberries. We don't like rental homes unless we are in big groups. We like room service options, having things in the hotel (pool, restaurants, etc.), and having someone clean our room every day.

Right- having our room cleaned, and access to room service, pool, restaurants, spa - those are all things I'm worried we will regret not having when doing a rental.... it may just feel like any regular vacation.

My husband and I will be going on our honeymoon in Hawaii in 2 weeks! We decided to save a bit of money that we were going to do one week in an Airbnb/Vrbo, then the second week we're going to do a resort. This way, we still get that "resort" feel honeymoon while also saving some money! Plus, for the first week we will probably be out and exploring so it won't matter where we are staying. To be completely honest, our Airbnb/Vrbo is realllllly nice so I'm looking forward to that!

We prefer hotels over VRBOs on any vacation, so for us it wasn't an option. We liked the option of walking to a beach out in front of the hotel, having the pool, having the restaurant downstairs, etc.
