Honeymoon registry?

Sarah, on June 5, 2020 at 2:12 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7
So my husband and I are trying to make a registry and realized we pretty much have everything we need for a house and stuff, minus some larger ticket items but no one is gonna go out and spend $400 on a kitchen aid mixer for us. So my husband said we should just ask for money to pay for a honeymoon. And I like well you can't just put in the invite asking for money that's totally rude. So I suggested we just do a honeymoon registry but have no clue how to go about doing this or if there are places that have honeymoon registries? Suggestions?

Try zola! however keep in mind honeymoon or cash registries will ask for a transaction fee.

another thing you can do is ask for gift cards like airbnb or southwest, etc.

I highly suggest Zola!! We have a very small registry on Zola and then a honeymoon fund tagged "our most wanted."

...The one thing people dish out for on the registry is the Kitchen Aid mixer! (I say, as I gaze fondly at the one my ILs sent as soon as the registry went public.) Seriously, we make ice cream with this baby.

Most websites have a honeymoon/cash fund that allows you to give people experiences or goals they can "dedicate" their gift to (it all just goes to your bank account). We used the Knot, and we put everything from our BB&B list to Amazon to the honeymoon on it.

We are using Zola. It’s cool because you can customize what people contribute money for. You can make it super personalized so that way people really feel like they are donating to something specific. From what I understood on the website, all of the money donated get sent to you in lump sum. Fingers crossed it works! We are in a similar boat. We will have a few traditional registry items, but mostly a honeymoon fund.

I always think it's a shame to lose out on the transaction fee. Since time and memorial people have given cash as a wedding gift. If there isn't a registry, people will give you a check or cash. Let gifts happen naturally.

If you register on Zola you can set items as "group gifts" so people can contribute directly toward big ticket items like furniture or a kitchenaid mixer without buying it outright. You can also add a honeymoon fund on there so everything is one place! We registered for several small appliances and even tools (which we linked from Lowes), plus a honeymoon fund and some other misc. kitchen items and dishes.
