Honeymoon Registry - How much to ask for?

Colleen , on November 20, 2011 at 1:03 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

I am starting a registry for our honeymoon. I know that it is just a nicer way to ask for money, but I'm not sure how many items to put on it. I don't want people to think we are asking for too much and/or are expecting to get everything on it. Is there a certain amount to ask for/expect per guest?

When i did my registry I had a bunch of different price items. I had 25, 50, 75, 100 and a couple other random prices because of the excursions we wanted to do. It worked out nice because it gave people options. Even though in the end most people just gave cash.

Heres the link to my website it might give you an idea

Having diffeent prices is a great ideal. I have guests that canafford only $5 when others would b willing to help with $100. offers of 25, 50, 75, 100 sound great.

I think we;ll be doing the same thing, but saving for a house. Smiley smile

    good luck!

We set the items at different prices to get a range. 4-5 items **** and 200. Im sure most wont choose the 200 but just means youll get more of the lower instead of nothing. I see alot of people ask for $50 salt and pepper shakers and people get annoyed and dont get them anything...

It is true that the basis is to have twice as many gifts registered for as guests expected (including wedding and any showers), but thats for ALL of your registries. We have BB&B, Target, and Honeyfund, so TOTAL we have a lot of gifts between the three...

Price ranges are definitely crucial...most registeries show you your price ranges and suggests areas for improvement.

For the honeymoon registry, I will caution you with this: don't register for more than you actually want. I got a little crazy when I was first making mine because I had so many ideas, and then I sat back and realized, "what if we get all of this?!" We literally wouldn't have had enough time to do all of it! So I took off anything that I knew we didn't really want/wouldn't have time for. Basically, the entire honeymoon is planned now...whatever we don't get in gifts, we're just going to pay for ourselves.

Very nice registry Katie! I recently set up on Honeyfund too! I like the premium verson without the ads, so I may upgrade. We're only asking for different denominations for the airfare and hotel. Everything else like dinners and activities, we'll pay for ourselves. I'm thinking we're going to go to Key West and be lazy Smiley smile

    The dream honeymoon is Hawaii!
