Honeymoon (maui vs Oahu)

Grace, on February 27, 2020 at 9:43 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8

Hi Everyone!

My fiance and I are trying to decide which island would be better to honeymoon on? We like doing a mix of relaxation and adventure. I know Oahu has a ton of things to do, but is it too busy? And does Maui have enough activities to fill time (we don't want to relax that whole time, we want to do some fun things)

I suggest doing both! My fiancé and I recently visited Hawaii and we did both Kauai and Oahu. It’s very cheap to fly island to island! We booked “multi-city” tickets meaning we flew to Oahu, flew to Kauai, then left from Kauai. It was perfect! We spent 8 days total, and did 3 in Oahu the rest in Kauai.

    I would also choose 2.
We are doing Maui (1 week) and Kauai (1 week) for our honeymoon.

We just booked our honeymoon to Maui this past weekend! There is plenty to do on Maui and it’s way more relaxed atmosphere than Oahu is! We booked through a friend who is a travel agent and we were going to do more than one but she said that you won’t be able to do as much and I hate packing and unpacking so we are staying put in Maui for ten days. If you only want to stay on one island I would pick Maui.

We did 3 nights on Maui and 4 nights on Oahu. It was a great mix! Maui we did a lot more unplanned exploring & relaxing and Oahu we had things planned (snuba tour & ATV tour). I think we would have been a little bored in Maui after a full 7 nights so I'm happy we did both. My husband preferred Maui, there were less people and it wasn't as busy. I preferred Oahu since I loved the Four Seasons Hotel and there was more to do!

I agree with pp if you can do both then cool. I’ve never been to Maui but I’ve been to Oahu and it is lively there but of course you’ll still feel at peace

If you have to pick one over the other, Maui definitely has more of a honeymoon vibe!

How long are you spending there? We had almost three weeks and did two weeks on Oahu and five days on the Big Island. We easily could have spent the whole time on Oahu. It's gorgeous and such a great mix of activity and relaxation!
