Honeymoon- Leaving the Country during Covid

Daisha, on August 25, 2020 at 2:10 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10
Hello ladies! I hope you all are well!

I’m curious to know if any of you plan to leave the country this year for your honeymoon. My wedding is on October 16, 2020, and FH and I are strongly leaning towards a week long trip to Jamaica the day after the wedding. I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos about foreign travel experiences (specifically to Jamaica) during Covid, and I feel hopefully about it.
Anyone else considering traveling out of your country for your honeymoon this year? If so, where to/ what resorts?

We get marry next Sat and we were suppose to go to Toronto but due to COVID the border is close. We are now looking for a quick getaway to FL or Lake Tahoe. Its too late to plan a trip to Jamaica. That sounds great! Hopefully you get to enjoy it.

Hey Charolett! I understand that concern. That’s one I was thinking about as well. I hope your Vegas trip is awesome! That was my second choice if we don’t go to Jamaica too! Lol.

Hey Ingrid!! Congratulations!!!! That’s awesome that you’re still going! I’m sure it will be so beautiful! I hear the Jamaican government is pretty tough on Covid regulations, so it seems to be a safe place to visit during these times.

We're going to have an "at-home" honeymoon. Get myself used to living in my new home and then yeah, later once we have a vaccine and it's deemed safer to travel, I have some ideas.

We just pushed back our St Lucia all-inclusive honeymoon to next year to align with the big wedding. I still really wanted to go, and FH and I weren't even that concerned about the getting there part. Airports and planes are super clean now and safer than they have ever been. But we ended up pushing back because, despite the resort assuring us that they took a lot of precautions, there were things we felt we just wouldn't be comfortable doing. Like going in the pools/hot tubs, going to bars when there are other people there, no dancing allowed, we wouldn't really get to talk to other couples there. Also what if we ended up stranded in another country because of lockdown regulations. It wouldn't be the worst thing to be stranded on a romantic vacation island lol but we don't have that kind of work flexibility. But if you are not concerned with these things, then for sure go because as mentioned, the actual traveling part is not as bad as it used to be.

We went on our pre-wedding honeymoon to Cancun in July. We stayed at Secrets the Vine and had an amazing experience :-)
