honeymoon - Jamaica OR Dominican republic

IMO the beach (turquoise water, white sand) in Punta Cana is way prettier than any I have seen in Jamaica! But you really can't go wrong with either if you are just looking for some fun in the sun

I've been to Jamaica a few times and can't wait to go again! We will probably end up there for our honeymoon as well. We've stayed at the Iberostar Grand multiple times and have had amazing experiences. I would definitely recommend. The only negative thing I can add is that May falls under their "no lobster" season... So, just keep that in mind!

I've been to Punta Cana twice and Negril once, personally I much preferred Negril

I lean that way because I am not a big fan of the huge all inclusive style stay, I prefer to wander around, get a feel for the area and eat at different restaurants etc. I thought Negril was well suited for that. There is drastically different scenery in a short distance (the gorgeous 7 mile beach and the cliffs a bit further west). I always qualify any recommendation of Negril though... If weed makes you in any way uncomfortable it is NOT the destination for you. That is one stereotype of Jamaica that certainly exists for a reason. It was comical how prevalent it was.

Just came back from Ocho Rios in Jamaica and stayed at the Sandals. It was beautiful and we had a great time. If you're looking to venture off of the resort on your own I'd say no to Jamaica. They do have excursions, etc, but just exploring is a no there for me.

I've been to DR twice and we are going back for our honeymoon. I would have loved to go to Jamaica but it was over budget. DR is obviously great since we chose to go a 3rd time.

We just got back from Punta Cana, it was beautiful!! I haven't been to Jamaica.

Both are really nice- just be careful traveling by youeself

Went to Riu Bambu in Punta Cana...absolutely loved it! Can't wait to go back again!!

Jamaica!!!!! Negril and Montego Bay are beautiful. I haven't been to Dominican Republic and I refuse to support the country due to their race relations with Haiti.

I have heard so many good things about Punta Cana!! Go there.

Jamaica all the way, beautiful it's right in the middle of the Caribbean. PC is on the Atlantic ocean, I'm curious about something, to the other ladies who have been there is it true that the water can get choppy so you can't get in the ocean?

Negril Jamaica

I've been to Jamaica twice. Loved it...but we didn't stay in a large resort. We hiked the blue mountains etc. We are looking into Punta Cana for our honeymoon. All inclusive and beautiful beaches!
