Honeymoon in the U.s.?

Courtney, on July 31, 2019 at 9:10 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 15
Where are yall honeymooning in the U.S.?
I really don't know where we are wanting to go. We live on the East Coast and have taken a lot of short weekend getaways to Alabama and Florida in the 3 years we've been together. We spent one week in Gatlinburg at the beginning of this year.

Our first thoughts were to go to Florida.... Sea World and Discovery Cove.... that sounds fun but I'm not sure it will feel like a honeymoon....just another trip. We've been to Florida multiple times and he lived there for 2 years.

I would kind of like to get away from the East Coast and go somewhere we've both never been before. I've also never flown. He has multiple times with being in the service, but I think that would be something great to experience for the first time with my new husband 😊

Just to give an idea..... we are getting married in April, but wont HM until June because of my work. We want something relaxing for about a week with pretty scenery. We like exploring, but arent much into hiking.

What parts of California? I've always wanted to go and see the Golden Gate Bridge and the Full House house 😂 I know I'm weird like that... but I know both of those are in San Fransisco

We honeymooned in the Grand Canyon! It’s so beautiful and there’s so much to see without having to hike

We're taking our honeymoon/babymoon in October hopefully. We're heading to Chattanooga. But the other place we had talked about was the PNW! Or any of the national parks out west.

We also live on the east coast and have done many Florida trips as we have family there and are big Disney fans. We also wanted to go somewhere new, so we are going to California. We are doing the touristy stuff, 4 days in Disneyland and a 4 day cruise to Mexico.

    Also from California!
We're honeymooning in Monterey, it's close to where we live, but we travel out of state and country decently often, and we wanted the key to our honeymoon to be relaxation. To us, that's Monterey. We just love Monterey, Santa Cruz and Carmel.
I wouldn't recommend SF for your honeymoon, I live on the island next to it and go to school there. It's overrated. It's busy, people don't know how to drive, it smells like pee and people are literally going poo on the sidewalks, even in the "nicer" parts. It's only good if you know the hole in the walls or are shelling out A LOT of money.
You could do Tahoe, Shasta, Yosemite, Santa Cruz, Monterey or Napa for NorCal, completely skip Central Cali and then hit SoCal for Disneyland bc you're in California so you might as well.
Honestly, if you're interested in the west coast, you should look into Washington. We did a road trip in Washington when my FH got home from his last deployment. We hit all the San Juan Islands, stayed in La Conner the longest, spent some time around the Sound and stayed at a beautiful resort near Mount Rainier.
    Summer is great in Washington.

California would be fun! San Diego has the zoo and lots of activities. There are tons of beaches. And if you go to northern California you get into wine country! Plenty of non hiking activities to be had!

San Francisco is great, you could also go to Napa while you’re there! That’s very honeymoon-y!

We are going to Savannah Georgia. We are getting married in Gatlinburg TN so that will start our minimoon but will end in GA on our way back down to FL where we live. We only have a few days of paid time off so were opting out from a real honeymoon and will do it on our 1 year anniversary. If we had more time we would definitely go to colorado or something like that!

We're from the East Coast as well! We're going to Utah for our honeymoon in October - we're visiting all 5 national parks: Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, and Zion.

We've been to Yosemite in California and it's beautiful! Highly recommend it. We stayed at a really cute place called Yosemite Bug.

I visited my brother who lives in Utah in May (where I got engaged) and it was beautiful. Even just flying into the airport we were amazed by the beautiful views. We did do some hiking but they have trails for light hikers/children. It was nice just seeing a different part of the country. We stayed just outside Salt Lake City. Lots to do.

We're going to Orlando. We take a lot of Caribbean vacations so we thought that would feel like just another trip. We love theme parks and wanted to continue having a great time after our wedding day.
    We're very excited!
