Honeymoon in October

I haven't tried yet, but prior to the pandemic, the federal government had mandated that all states must convert to a federally approved drivers license to fly, even domestically. That was supposed to go into effect in October. I'm not sure if the deadline got pushed back, but I'm assuming it will still be difficult to get on a plane without the upgraded license.

I did look at the US Department of State travel page, and it says expediting is suspended due to the pandemic and to expect significant delays...

They aren’t issuing passports right now unless it’s a life or death emergency I believe. As far as what the previous poster said, they pushed the deadline back for the real ID until next October rather than this year.

They received our passport applications right before everything went crazy in March and we still have not gotten them yet. When we call they say the wait could be longer and then they also tell us that we have already waited a long time for them and that we should call every week to check on them. We leave on July 13...so I’m hoping we get them soon

My fiancè tried to get a new passport so he could go to Montreal for his friend's bachelor party, and whoever he contacted basically said it's not an emergency, try again later. Everything government-related is so backed up right now (we're on the waiting list for a marriage license appointment), so I would just keep trying every way you can so you'll be near the front of the line when they reopen.

As others have said, they've pretty much suspended passport processing right now (which DH and I are concerned about, as we have been meaning to replace ours for quite some time... and keep forgetting).

Honestly, I'm uncertain international travel will be safe this fall, so it might be a moot point.
