Honeymoon in Mykonos and Santorini - Advice on Things to See/Do?

Sarah, on February 23, 2017 at 5:07 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10

Hi, ladies! I wanted to check in to see if anyone has ever visited Mykonos and/or Santorini specifically. My fiance and I booked our honeymoon for 10 full days, with 5 days on each island in May, and with so much wedding planning, we haven't even THOUGHT about things to do/see or any of the "must go to" restaurants, bars, spas, etc. While we'll also be scouring Trip Advisor for recommendations, if you're familiar with either island and have any tips/things you loved, feel free to send them my way. We are looking forward to a relaxing honeymoon and hope you'll have some insights on Greece. Cheers!

Thalasso spa in Mykonos is a must! Amazing! Afterwards you can always head down to the beach to relax, the beach at the bottom of the hill is gorgeous. That hotel is where we got engaged, great place for drinks or dinner too. On Santorini rent an ATV best way to see the whole island, you can get from one end to the other in 45 minutes, they are not very expensive either. Try the street food, it's amazing! Also little sandal shop in the middle of town where they fit them to fit you perfectly & make them in front of you for $25 euro, I love mine

Lucky's in Santorini, it was amazing! Little Venice in Mykonos has a bunch of street stalls, I don't remember the names but if it smells good from the outside go in! You won't be disappointed

Oia in santorini has beautiful restaurants that overlook the Mediterranean, their is one next to the large cathedral that had the best lamb I've ever had

Ohhhh I LOVE Greece!!! You really can't go wrong anywhere, TBH, but you must try a frappe and as much traditional Greek food as possible!!! Ask the locals for their favorite spots, off the beaten path, rather than going where the tourists go. In Santorini, I don't recommend riding the donkeys, but if you feel you must...don't say I didn't warn you!!! lol. Take the boat to the middle island to hike around, it's very cool. I can't remember much from Mykonos, it's quite the party island ;-) I vaguely remember being lost in the maze at the port city, so be careful in there!!! And have fun!!!!!!

We are going there too. We are doing Athens, Naxos and Santarini. We hired a travel agent there who set up a schedule and activities for us to. She set us up dinner cruises, tours, reservations, etc. She also booked all of our transportation.

Thank you so much for your responses! We are staying at the Myconian Imperial overlooking Elia Beach and The Katikies Hotel in Oia. Love all of the feedback/advice. We did book a wine tour for one afternoon and will be at the spa (likely more than once). I'm thinking of a low key honeymoon with food, frappes (fantastic suggestion), drinks, the spa, and exploring. Anything to watch out for (other than donkeys - ha! We won't be doing that excursion - promise!) or things you wish you would have known?
