I’m having a hard time researching and planning our honeymoon for next August in Hawaii. Does anyone have any tips for Hawaii?

We just booked our honeymoon for Hawaii this year and sadly postponed it to next year but the advice we were given was to pick the island based on the activities you want to do. Sit on the beach any island can handle. Underwater motorcycle only one island has! Also consider staying only on one island instead of island hopping if you are going for 10 days or less it’s too much hassle to get on a boat or plane to move hotels mid trip! We booked everything through aaa and they made it super easy! Also make sure your hotel is near a lot of restaurants for easy eating as you will get bored of the three item menu from the hotel restaurant!

When we were considering Hawaii for our honeymoon before we postponed I went on Hawaiian Airlines website to look a packages (flights, hotels and events/things to do). You can add everything in right up front which is cool. Or if you don’t plan to book with them it at least gives you an idea of what you can do. I also did the same thing in Costco Travel and Trip Advisor.

I recommend a luau because it's Hawaii and the performances are actually really fun and cool.

We went to both the seahorse and octopus conservation places and got to hold a seahorse and touch octopuses! Very cool.
Also did manta ray snorkel/scuba dive experience which can be hit or miss because honestly they're wild animals and may or may not show up. We saw a few and it was a cool enough experience but nothing I'd do again until the very end! Literally half of us were back on the boat when suddenly we discovered one right under us! It did a ton of "flips" (this is how they eat) and got so close it touched my FH leg (you may not touch them but they can touch you.) So, we got lucky but it is a gamble, you're more likely to see them if scuba diving as opposed to snorkeling and it's at night so account for that. I was totally sea sick on the boat there and back, though.
The farmers market was super cool and worth going. I wanted to do a coffee plantation tour but didn't find the time.

I tell you what. We decided to just go to Oahu for about a week. Stayed right there on Wakiki Beach. It was amazing. We rented a car, went snorkling, ate a ton of macadamia nuts, gained lots of weight, tons of fun. We visited the Dole Plantation, different historic buildings, Mighty Mo and the USS Arizona. There was still oil leaking from the sunken ship. Went up to north shore. It was simply incredible.

I know most people opt for a less populated Island, but there was so much history on that island that we just simply had a blast, and with the car we were still able to get away from the people and just have a great time. LOVE Hawaii. Great Honeymoon.
