honeymoon in galveston, Tx?

Linda, on March 5, 2009 at 1:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Im getting married next June (2010)...does anyone know of a place in galveston where they have good deals on honeymoon suites?? And another question..would it be a good idea to go there since Galveston was recently wiped away by hurricane Ike??? i live in beaumont, tx and im just trying to find somewhere close where we dont have to pay a lot of money..Our original plan was Destin, Fl but the money is just too much..with the plane ticket and hotel and all!

Because of the hurricane it's a little difficult but here are some other choices you might want to consider

    The Woodlands Resort

    Sunset Harbor Resort

    Coral Cay Beachfront

When I was little my family used to go to the Galvestonian and it was gorgeous. We new a woman who bought 2 condos there and had them knock down a wall to combine them. I never stayed anywhere except in her condo so I don't know much about the other suites but it was a wonderful place to stay. The pool is very nice and the staff are always so friendly. I hope that Hurricane Ike hasn't done too much damage there because I have such wonderful memories and I planned on taking my FH there one day.

I'm not sure about the suites or anything to stay at but when I was in Galveston in November it was still a mess. They were still cleaning it up at that point. They had not started on redoing biulding damaged by the huricane. With that being said they had done alot in removing the trash and debris. I'm sure by the time your honeymoon gets here they will have completed it.

I hope so! Yesterday i kept imagining spending a week or two maybe in a beach cabin and it was so great, i love cabins....it would be cheaper too! But i understand that most of the cabins are gone.... Smiley sad even the one i stayed at a couple of years ago..it was called Anns Tropicana Place and it was in the Ramada beach part...(swedes real estate). I loved that place so much, but i went to the swedes website and tried to look for it and its not there Smiley sad

I lived in Houston for many years. As your have a hub airport and a port you should go on line and look at alll inclusive mexico packages with Airfare and cruises. Both give you a huge bang for your buck. If you go anywhere coastal you should not book more tha 6 months out so you know what the hurrican season prevoius year June thourgh October has done to that location/area.

I agree with the all inclusive deals, especially to mexico right now, as far as galveston try hotel galvez, or a bed and breakfast there
