Honeymoon in Asheville, NC area - hotel or cabin?

Katie, on March 9, 2017 at 12:55 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10

It's going to be right at Thanksgiving. If you live in the area or you've been there for vacations/honeymoons, which one would you suggest, and why? I'd love to hear specific suggestions too, if you know of a good place! I'd love to have our own place but I also don't know how much I want to cook.

Depends whats important for you---personally I'd go cabin to have the privacy and space. But if you want a maid, breakfast in bed, turn down service all that, you should stay in a hotel. I would suggest some of the inn's/hotels by the Biltmore estate for hotel, cant recommend any specific cabins there though. I lived only about an hour away from there growing up, so I've rarely spent the night there.

We LOVED these cabins, very high-end with great services. they are only a short drive from the Biltmore. We recommend them to all our friends. LOVED the heated floors in the bathrooms. We were there in early December and they even had Christmas Trees and decorations up.

The Grove Park Inn is a great place to stay in Asheville. You can eat there or travel downtown for some good food.

If you are looking for a slightly cheaper place to go in the same area consider staying in Waynesville at the Resort in town. Waynesville is super cute with good food and only 30 min from Asheville. Between the two places are tons of hiking trails and stores to shop at.

My FH and I are honeymooning in NC and staying in a cabin in Hotsprings, just north of Ashville. Their customer service and reviews have been excellent. And the cabins have a hot tub on the deck, overlooking the mountains Smiley smile

I love love love a beautiful, private cabin in the mountains. There's a little town right outside of Asheville called Candler, NC. Check out cabins in that area. They're less expensive then Asheville but still a 10 min drive to downtown.

Definitely do a cabin! They're so cozy and romantic.

Last year, FH and I stayed at Cabins of Asheville. They have several small cabins, and it's only about a 20 minute drive into the fun part of Asheville.

FH and I are getting married at Lake Lure, which is near Asheville. While planning for the wedding, we have stayed at the Firehouse Inn several times in Rutherfordton, which is about 30-45 min from Asheville. The Lake Lure Inn is where our wedding will be and we will be staying there, also about 30 min from Asheville. We have also visited Black Mountain several times, which is near Asheville. We like the charm of the surrounding areas.
