Honeymoon help!

Kristy, on July 20, 2019 at 11:13 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12
Hi everyone! I’m getting married next April and my fiancé & I are having trouble choosing our honeymoon location. Our main problem is that we have never gone on a trip ALONE let alone ever been on a plane together so I Think we should do something simple but I just don’t know where we should go! Any suggestions!?

Welcome to WW! There's popular beaches like ones in Florida and California, if you want a more tropical feel

We’re pretty much open to anything, we live in Florida and our budget is around $2500-$3000

Depending on where in FL you may not need to fly for a cruise.

If you live in Florida there are so many cruise lines that go from there. You could have a great vacation for the amount of money you have budgeted if you plan early. Lots of great Caribbean islands.

Why don't you look into cruising? I think it would definitely fall into budget, you can go to multiple places, & the best part is that since you turn off your phones to not get charged roaming fees, you can actually disconnect and enjoy each others company.

FH & I will be going on an 8-day Carnival cruise, decided to do a balcony since we usually go interior. However, even going in an interior room is still worth it. Smiley smile

Do you both appreciate nature? if so, a cabin rental in the woods or near a lake might be excellent.

do you want a more city environment on a beach? then it might make more sense to go to one of the beautiful beaches in florida or california.

If the two of you dont have grand ideas, it is best to stay simple (especially since the wedding is usually a big expense as is). My FH & I will be renting a cabin on Canyon Lake here in TX. Its about an hour and a half away. Far enough we will have privacy but not so far that we cannot come back if an emergency occurs.

Just remember that the main point of the honey moon is to relax with your new husband. It doesnt need to be far away or cost a lot as long as you two have what you need.

My FH and I are going to Maui Hawaii! I like that it'll be in the states technically, but being on an island will make it feel more secluded and tropical! I've also been on cruises, those are really fun as long as you choose the right cruise line (highly suggest Royal Caribbean). That's what my bestie is doing for her honeymoon in September! Best of luck in your planning!

The FH & I have been on so many cruises that we kind of don’t want to do it again for the honeymoon, I feel like I’m being picky ugh and that’s what stresses me out. We mainly want something tropical with a little of exploration

Maui has tons of resorts, my FH's grandpa has a timeshare there so we were able to get a discount. But our plan B was to use TripAdvisor and find the best deals on their hotels and resorts! I did some research and just narrowed it down to 3 or 4 of my favorite ones within our price range, and then showed FH and him and I agreed on one. But make sure it's the right island too! Oahu is very touristy and busy. Maui and the main Hawaiian island are known to be the best for honeymoons because they are more secluded!
