Honeymoon fund

Hi! So we are planning a wedding for 11.12.2021 however, My Fiancee is worried that with a date being so close to the holidays that people are not going to contribute as much to the Honeymoon with the Holidays near. Has anyone had this issue? No issue? Tell me about it Smiley smile

If it was after Thanksgiving maybe, but I think that’s still plenty of time. And keep in mind you’re going to be sending save the dates or invitations well ahead of time, usually before people start holiday shopping.

People are going to gift what they can afford, I can’t imagine worrying that people won’t give me enough money because they have to spend money on their families for the holidays.

I don't know if that's gonna be a problem. that's kind of one of those things you'll just have to see but regardless, people contribute what they wish to already anyway

Thank you Ladies! this makes me feel better. I don't think it'd be a issue but He is just concerned. We still don't even know where we want to Honeymoon (SMH)

I wouldn't worry about this. People tend to have ideas of how much they want to give to couples for weddings depending on how close they are and I don't think the holidays would change that amount. It's also just nice of them to give a gift at all, so I think this is something to just push out of your partner's mind.

I would think so because they’ll get their Save the Date or invite we’ll before your wedding date. I would immediately budget that into my head.

Ehh this doesn’t sit well with me. You should be prepared to pay for your own honeymoon entirely. If you can’t afford it on your own, don’t do it.
