Honeymoon: Disney? Sandals Resort?

Erin, on November 15, 2015 at 9:25 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12

Hi ladies! So after doing some research in all-inclusive resorts in Mexico my FIL's and my parents both agreed that Mexico isn't the safest place to honeymoon right now. My FH and I agreed so we are looking into other options like a Honeymoon in Disney or possibly a Sandals resort in the Bahamas. We want a combination of romance as well as fun all tied in to an all-inclusive resort. Any advice for either of these options (or maybe even other locations) would be incredibly helpful!

My FH and I are planning our honeymoon at Disney World. There are always fun things to do and events going on, something different every time.

Disney will be an active honeymoonSmiley smile

There are a number of All-Inclusive resorts in the Caribbean that are as good or better than Sandals.

With a better price tag. The Sandals Royal Bahamian is a big party atmosphere. What type of resort would you like? Party all night or relax and hang in the ocean? Many All Inclusive resorts offer complimentary honeymoon packages. We have different packages and resort photos on our store front page if you want to see what different resorts include.

Please let me know if you have any questions Smiley smile

I am going to say Sandals Royal Bahamian! I have to disagree with the previous post. FH and I went to the Sandals Royal Bahamian a few years ago and it was literally the best experience of our entire lives. I didn't feel that it was a big party atmosphere at all--in fact there were times where it felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. It is a couples only resort so there are no big families or kids--most people that we interacted with were celebrating their honeymoon or anniversary. They had two HUGE pools with swim up bars and a beautiful, private beach with no vendors to harass you (which I've experienced at other resorts and it became really obnoxious).

I really can't say enough great things about it. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff was incredible, and the grounds were immaculate. We made friends there that we are still in contact with, and became friends with some of the staff that we still talk to and hope to see again one day. They also had an off-shore private island that had an additional restaurant and beach (only took about 5 minutes for the boat ride).

Sandals resorts are definitely pricey, but you get what you pay for. You won't have to worry about your safety and you definitely wont have to worry about getting sick from the water or food. That is a huge thing for me since I have gone to other resorts and got very sick from the water/food. You NEVER have to pull out your wallet--I tried to give extra tips to some of the fabulous staff and they wouldn't accept it.

I also recommended Sandals to my brother and sister-in-law and they ended up going there for their honeymoon last year! They of course had an amazing time as well.

    Happy planning!

We're honeymooning at Sandals Barbados at the beginning of January! We were looking for something all inclusive that's also a little romantic. Sandals is a great option. Although it's pricey, you get what you pay for.

We went to Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica for our honeymoon in Sept., and we absolutely loved it! The food was fantastic, and we loved participating in all the resort's activities. Paddleboarding, kayaking, and snorkling were fun, and we definitely enjoyed playing beach volleyball every day at 4. We booked an excursion to one of Jamaica's rivers for a kayaking/zip line experience, and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The people and staff are super friendly, and the beach itself was absolutely fabulous. It was nice not to have to worry about paying at every meal, and they were super accomodating for my food allergies. I would definitely go back!

We are going to Sandals Ochi Beach in Jamaica in June and are so excited. The watersports, nightly activities, excursions and multiple restaurants are what sold me on Sandals!

@Paige I have friends who went to Ochi Beach in Jamaica this past August, and they loved it! Definitely take advantage of all that Sandals Jamaican resorts have to offer. And if you can afford to splurge on an excursion or two through the resort, go for it. They are well worth the extra cost!

Definitely go for the adults-only! Disney does not scream "honeymoon", IMO

Disney sounds like my version of hell...just overpriced and not romantic. Some people LOVE IT. I have heard AMAZING things about Sandal's resorts. My MOH and her husband went to Sandals Antigua which is adults only. They could not say enough nice things, they were heavily encouraging us to go there. That said FH and I are going to Bora Bora for our HM Smiley smile Thanks HiH, your pics put it over the top for us!

    Enjoy!

My future BIL and his wife went to Disney World for their honeymoon last May and absolutely loved it. She is a big fan of Disney. They loved the service. We are looking at going somewhere a bit different, but if you choose to go that route, you know that it will be great Smiley smile

I love Disney but the FH vetoed my idea of honeymooning there. He wants a relaxing romantic getaway. We are sure what resort but we are thinking going to a Sandals resort on St Lucia. After seeing the pictures and the review i completely agree with him. We will go to Disney for another trip.
