Honeymoon Decision

Erin, on January 29, 2020 at 7:31 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 13
Ok, I need some help on deciding on our honeymoon. We are between Aruba and the Mexico, but each has its pros and cons. In Mexico we could stay longer and get more bang for our buck, but we like the look of Aruba better. Overall, we just want to be together, relaxing, after the wedding, but we are having a hard time figuring out what’s the most important after that. My two questions are: 1) Aruba or Mexico? 2) What is the most important aspect of the honeymoon for you....other than being together?
Thank you!

If your main plans are to relax and be together, then you should choose Mexico because you’ll get to do those things, but for less money.

I feel the same way when it comes to our honeymoon. FH and I travel multiple times per year, so my hope is that our honeymoon will be majority relaxing and downtime with a little sightseeing, dancing and shopping mixed in. So basically, like a typical vacation... except married. Lol😃

    I'd probably do Mexico.

We're doing Disney, so we want to be entertained. Good food, good drinks, good service. That's what we're looking for. Sun sand and beach are also up there in priority.

I agree less money! Also you’ll be relaxed and if you want to do something they can help you find excursions! We got ours with a one excursion included on bookit!

Well, um... how do I put this nicely?.... there are certain “bowel issues” that will occur in Mexico lol It doesn’t matter how careful you are or if you stay in the resort or never drink the water... it’s pretty much a guarantee. For some people that could kill the romance. If you don’t mind having a case of the trots while you’re there, Mexico would definitely be a bigger bang for your buck. But Aruba may be more relaxing & romantic

Thank you ladies! I tend to overthink things and then I overlook some of the smallest things. I had totally forgotten about Montezuma’s revenge so thank you Chrysta for reminding me.

I’ve been to Mexico a few times and never had these issues 🤷‍♀️. That being said I’d spend the extra money and go to Aruba! It’s such a beautiful island, the food is amazing and there’s many cool excursions you can do that are reasonably priced.

Thanks Emily! I've been to Mexico before as well and did not have an issue, but I definitely wouldn't want to chance it for my honeymoon! We have decided on Aruba Smiley smile Thank you all for your advice and insights!

Nope. We go to Mexico every year and never once have had an issue. It’s in no way a sure thing, and it’s an an amazing romantic place.

We chose Mexico because it was more affordable and still somewhere tropical where we could relax and get away. We are already over our budget for the wedding, but we still wanted to go somewhere and celebrate us. We did a lot of research and decided on Cabo where we can just lay on the beach or sit by the pool for days. The most important thing to us was being together of course lol.

That’s what I was thinking too, but I was torn because I wanted it to be a place we hadn’t been before. When it comes down to it all that really matters is being together after. Thank you for your input!
