Honeymoon cruise?

Neeva, on November 4, 2019 at 10:53 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 14

Anyone go on a cruise for their honeymoon??

We are getting married in Tampa so it would be super easy to hop on a cruise and immediately start relaxing. I am looking at all inclusives in Mexico as alternatives but it is double the price of the cruise!

Any recommendations or any experience booking a cruise honeymoon?

Thanks!!

Yes! I live in the Orlando area so we're taking a cruise of out Port Canaveral. I chose Carnival but Royal Caribbean and others are good too. It's easy and I think it'll be fun. Plus I booked to have our room decorated in their "Honeymoon" theme Smiley smile

We did a 10 day cruise out of NY (we live in Brooklyn) and we loved it. I would suggest researching which Cruise line to go with. We have only gone on Norweigan and loved it (great food, good itinerary, great staff and they usually win best entertainment). Carnival is known as a younger crowd and more of a party cruise and is typically lower budget, holland/celebrity/princess are all for significantly older crowds (like 70s+). Royal Caribbean seems to be similar to Norwegian, but to my knowledge don't have as many options with food as Norweigan does (number of restaurants and flexibility on what time to eat). In general, we are usually one of the youngest couples on the ship (late 20s/early 30s, and longer cruises tend to get even more of an older crowd) We have since been on 3 Norweigan cruises and will probably only sail with them.

    Congratulations and hope this helped!

I booked a cruise to Mexico through Carnival for my honeymoon! I think it’s a great way to have “all inclusive” and be out of the country for a lower price. Neither me nor my FH have cruised before and neither of us have been to Mexico so it’ll definitely be an experience. I’ve heard great things !

Thanks guys! I'm looking at Royal Caribbean to Bahamas and Key West. I've been on this exact cruise before but FH has never cruised so I think he will love it!

I'm going on a 5 night Disney Christmas cruise next month for my honeymoon. We have done two other cruises, one through carnival and one through Disney. Our wedding theme is beauty and the beast so I wanted a Disney cruise for our honeymoon. Cruises are perfect for the price and everything included!

I would suggest going to your primary doctor and having them prescribe you the sea sickness patch. Its a patch that goes behind your ear during the cruise to avoid getting sick. My FH and I are prone to sea sickness and this helps us a lot. We also buy the ginger gum to chew on at times when we feel al little sick. Carnival has my favorite drink the "Miami vice" ;p. Call them to ask if they can try to get you a table by yourself since its your honeymoon, they cant guarantee it but it doesn't hurt to ask. At dinner order anything you want! Do not be shy, order it lol

Congratulations! I’ve been on four cruises and they’re a blast – and can be very affordable. I’d highly recommend a room with a balcony and make sure you find time to just relax. On our last cruise, we didn’t have any days at sea and had excursions each day. We also went to every formal dinner in the dining room, which take no less than 2 hours from start to finish. By the end of the cruise, we were exhausted. My advice: skip most of the formal dinners and plan at least one or two beach days. Happy planning!

FH and I are going on a Christmas/New Years cruise next year for our honeymoon! It'll be 11 nights through the S. Caribbean. I've been on lots of cruises and Royal Caribbean has been my favorite. Advise would be to find a room closer to mid-ship and on a higher deck. You'll get a better view but also avoid a lot of the rocking that makes people sick. Also, if you're going to do excursions, book through the ship. That way if something is running late you wont get left behind.

We chose a cruise through carnival. I like them because you can link your honeymoon registry and people can buy excursions. You can also let them know it’s your honeymoon. Special packages. 😊 Carnival was cheaper but if I could’ve afforded a less child friendly boat - we would’ve lol

You can book a cruise to Mexico, then you get the best of both worlds! We are planning a Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon.

Yes! Cruising is a GREAT way to get "all inclusive" for the best price. We're doing a Carnival cruise to Mexico from Texas the week after our wedding. We cruised last November to Mexico from CA and we had SO MUCH FUN!! The best part of cruising is that everyone is there because they're on vacation, so everyone is generally in a good mood and they're friendly and just want to have fun. There will likely be many other honeymooners while you're there. On our last cruise, a couple got married on the ship on the last night of the cruise so that was fun to see.

For the price, you can't beat cruising. Make sure you have a little extra $$ for booze (if you drink) and excursions. We are doing the same thing as Victoria and having our stateroom decorated and we're ordering chocolate covered strawberries to be ready and waiting for us when we arrive. We're crazy excited!

My best tip if you decide to use Carnival is to have a pack of bottled water delivered to your room before the cruise even starts (you save 10% if you order before your cruise) because bottled water is pricey and you can't bring your own. It was a lifesaver for us to have fresh water available any time we wanted instead of tap.

    Cheers and happy cruising!!

We’re going on a 10 day cruise to Hawaii. We’re using Carnival Cruise 🚢. I’ve been on their cruises multiple times and I haven’t had any problems....so far.
