Honeymoon (caribbean)

Christian, on July 27, 2020 at 3:49 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 16

We are planning our honeymoon for May of 2021 to the Caribbean. Does anyone have any all inclusive resorts that they would recommend us to look at? We are open to all locations (Bahamas, Jamaica, Barbados, etc.)

Sandals Resorts has all of those locations and then some. We're booked with them as well. Our honeymoon will be in St. Lucia.

What is it that you would like to do while on your honeymoon, the islands and resorts all offer something different? So it depends on what you want to do, if anything!

Excellence and Secrets have locations in Jamaica, and they are really great.

That's who I've been looking at mostly (Sandals). What made you pick St. Lucia? I hope you enjoy your honeymoon!

I know we want to relax, but also want to have fun, do some water sports and possibly do an excursion or just venture out of the resort.

We booked with Sandals. Going to honeymoon in Jamaica. I didn’t go through a travel agent- I didn’t want to pay anyone for something I could do myself. I booked a 7 night, 1 bedroom honeymoon villa (with a butler) & airfare (we’re doing 1st class since it’s our honeymoon) - I got the whole thing for $5340. I did talk to a rep from sandals to narrow down my search.

It's been about 8 years since we were there, but we enjoyed the Hilton Rose Hall Resort in Jamaica. It's not adults only, so I don't know if that's an issue for you, but it was very nice. They have a lazy river and some other cool amenities onsite, and there were some excursions (e.g., ziplining, etc.) that were close & convenient. I'm not sure if it's changed, but when we were there there were definitely security concerns in Jamaica so we stuck to the plan of only leaving the resort as part of a planned, secure excursion. It was beautiful and incredibly relaxing.

Jewel resorts in Jamaica are amazing! There are 3 of them in different locations, 2 being adults only. I had the best time there, they have dunns river falls, and plenty of motorsports you can rent, or non motorsports that are free. You can take a bus tour to shops off of the property. The water is so clear, you can be floating 10 feet up and it looks like you can reach down and touch the bottom. There are coral reefs right there on property not far out where you can snorkel. They dont allow any outsiders on the beach that are going to try to sell you things like you hear when people talk about Jamaica. I had an amazing time and it wasnt overcrowded.

We wanted to make sure we chose a place neither of us have been before and then went down the room types and list of activities. We knew we wanted an oceanfront room. For whatever reason my mom discarded Jamaica (she's paying for it) so that was immediately out lol. FH's been to Bahamas on a cruise with his parents. We noticed that the resorts have a stay at 1 play at all program so we decided against Grenada and Antigua since there's only one resort.

We figured why not make the most of our trip and what better way to do that than to be able to go to other resorts on the island at no extra cost?!?! Barbados was too expensive for what we wanted and it turned out that St. Lucia was perfect! We found our room pretty quickly and it looks more like a home than a regular hotel room (not that that was a deal breaker or anything). We love that there's stairs that lead right to the sand.

I was trying to do it myself and didn’t know what exactly to pick because there was so much to choose from! I think we want to stay for at least 6 nights so this helps me get an idea of price range as well. Thank you for the information

I talked with a rep from sandals to narrow down the search. Gave me the best deals. I was thinking of only staying 5-6 days but he told me it was the same price if I stayed 7 days compared to 6. Your 7th night is free.
