Honeymoon Camera

Following! I'm saving my pennies for a nice beginner DSLR, but really would love to hear other people's opinions! We plan on leaving our iPhones locked up in the resort safe, so something other than a go pro for pics would be great.

If you want something small, like a point and shoot, I have a cannon that is still working after six years and I think takes pretty good pictures. Remember to get a bigger SD card so you don't run out of space!

There are used camera websites where you can get more fancy camera bodies for the price of a point and shoot if you are looking for more quality photos.

As a photo hobbiest, I personally don't think anything that could be described as "small" is worth the money. Modern phones do just as good or better than your average little point and shoot. Either go with a quality DSLR (and learn how to use it!) if artistic and technical photography is your thing, or stick with a camera phone if you just want to casually snap some memories as you go.

I've used my Nikon Coolpix waterproof/shock resistant camera for years on vacations! It takes great photos and it really is waterproof (at least in a pool). It's about the size of a deck of cards so it fits in my jeans easily and I don't have to carry my non waterproof, much more expensive phone during beach vacations!

I'm one of those people that still carries around an actual camera (not just a phone, and not just my professional DSLR that I use for weddings and shoots). I'm clumsy too so I like the "tough" cameras (waterproof, dropproof, etc.). I used to use the Panasonic Lumix:

That's a great little camera. My husband got me a new one since I had used that one hard for a few years and he got me a Nilon Coolpix which is pretty good (I'm still learning it since I don't use it that often, since I use my DSLR more):

I have the Olympus digital underwater camera. I love it! Great for snorkeling and also takes great above water shots. You can buy the older version for $169. Newest one is $329.

FH is bringing his GoPro camera I bought for him for one of his birthdays. It's small and easy to carry. Plus he can take pictures underwater which will be great since we are going to Costa Rica for our HM!
